This policy explains how Icarus Energy collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or request a solar assessment. It applies to the website at icarusenergy.com and to any sales or installation services we provide.

When you start an assessment we collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Your name and contact information (phone, email)
  • Your service address and ZIP code
  • Utility provider and approximate monthly bill amount
  • Roof details and home information you choose to share

We also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit the site, including IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, and referrer.

3. How we use information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Estimate your savings and design a custom system
  • Schedule a free on-site assessment
  • Pull permits and coordinate utility interconnection
  • Communicate with you about your project
  • Improve our website and services

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to deliver our services:

  • Utility companies (SCE, SDG&E, LADWP) for interconnection
  • Permitting offices and inspectors as required by law
  • Financing partners if you elect to finance your system
  • Service providers who help us run the business (hosting, email, scheduling) under data protection agreements

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising or marketing by third parties.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies are disabled by default. They only load if you opt in on our cookie banner or cookie preferences page.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request under California law. If your browser sends GPC, analytics is automatically disabled.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We do not sell or share your personal information.

7. Your California rights (CCPA / CPRA)

  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to provide our services.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny services, charge a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@icarusenergy.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We will respond within 45 days as required by law, with a possible 45-day extension if we notify you of the need for additional time.

You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require proof of authorization.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

9. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
